Derek Ramsay recovers from dengue MANILA, Philippines - Hunk actor Derek Ramsay is back in fighting form after suffering from dengue.
Ramsay, one of the lead stars of ABS-CBN hit series "Magkaribal," stayed 4 days in a hospital where he was rushed due to high fever.
Ramsay, who's known for being a health buff, said he was in and out of the hospital. Last August 1, he was brought to a hospital but he initially refused confinement.
"Ayoko ding magpaka-confine hanggang Tuesday evening 'yon. Hindi ko na kinaya tapos nag-nosebleed ako Tuesday evening [din]. Then natakot na ako tapos nakinig na ako sa mga doctor at kay Angelica (Panganiban) na dapat magpaka-confine na ako. Nagka-rushes ako all over my neck. Bumagsak talaga ang immune system ko," Ramsay said.
He said he is now feeling better, and he will soon resume his tapings.
"Sabi ng doctor malakas naman ang resistance ko so hindi masyadong bumaba ang platelets ko. Balik ako trabaho. Papagaling ako para makahabol ako sa taping,” Ramsay said.
While in confinement, Ramsay was accompanied by his real life sweetheart, Panganiban.
"She's always there by my side. She made sure na nakikinig ako sa doctor, she made sure na hindi ako masyadong gumagalaw galaw at sinisigurong hindi ako masyadong makulit," he said.
Ramsay was discharged from the hospital on Saturday.
