Too bad, Maria Venus Raj of the Philippines lost in the just concluded Miss Universe beauty pageant held in Las Vegas, USA. She earned a fifth place finish that was a big letdown for all Pinoys watching live at Mandalay Resort and the millions more watching in the Philippines and the four corners of the world where they were working. Miss Mexico beat her for the crown as Venus was let down by her lackadaisical answer to a simple question posed to her. Our mere consolation was that she entered the top five together with Miss Jamaica, Miss Ukraine, Miss Australia and the eventual winner, Miss Mexico. After the sordid hostage taking incident in Manila where 9 people died, all Pinoys were hoping that Miss Raj could have been our saving grace. Well, back to the drawing boards.

ReplyDeleteLahat naman siguro tayo ay nanuod nang Miss Universe beauty pageant at nananalangin na sana manalo si Venus para matakpan naman maski papaano ang kahihiyan nang bansang Pinas sa malagim na sinapit nung mga namatay sa hostage crisis sa Luneta Grandstand.
